Ira Greenberg is a painter turned creative-coding pioneer, Professor and Director of the Center of Creative Computation at Southern Methodist University, with a joint appointment in the Meadows School of the Arts and the Lyle School of Engineering. He wrote Processing: Creative Coding and Computational Art (2007), described as the first major language reference for Processing, followed by two further Processing texts. In 2023 he co-founded the Generative+AI art platform Emergent Properties with Emil Corsillo, launching it with his collection The Oracles, and he has since shown AI-driven series such as CyberStructures with Gazelli Art House.
