Nikolay Jetchev is a machine-learning research scientist and artist who worked at Zalando Research in Berlin, where he co-authored influential work on texture synthesis with generative adversarial networks, including Spatial GANs and Periodic Spatial GANs (PSGAN). His artistic experiments with these models include a music video of water textures morphing in response to sound, accepted at the ECCV 2018 workshop on Computer Vision for Fashion, Art and Design. ClipMatrix, presented in his paper as a generative art tool for artists, carried his work from 2D textures into text-controlled 3D form.
