Claire Silver is an anonymous American artist and one of the best-known figures in AI art. She once hoped to become a writer, but a chronic illness affected her word recall, so she turned to painting and then, from around 2018, to AI. She began with GAN experiments, and her first AI work was 'blue girl (qualia)'. Her art explores vulnerability, disability, trauma, social hierarchy, innocence, and divinity. She is known for the phrase 'taste is the new skill'. Her work has been shown at LACMA and Sotheby's, appeared in Christie's 'Augmented Intelligence' sale (2025), and in 2024 she signed with the talent agency WME.
